Street fighter IV tutorial

Street fighter IV tutorial. The eternal duel between console and PC has always been beneficial for us players. If you wanted to entertain yourself with an RPG or a strategy, you'd open the PC. If you preffered a jump'n'run title or a sport one played in two, you'd start the console. It is true that many are common to both platforms, but i must admit that each excels in its own way, creating a little envy in the camp of the adversary.

Although most do not admit if asked, PC fans felt an acute lack of fighting-games, especially lately. Whlie consoles host titles like Virtual Fighter 5, Soul Calibur IV, Tekken 5 Dark Ressurection, Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, and in February 2009, the fourth one in a series that no longer needs any presentation: Street Fighter.

Even before launch, the Japanese publisher Capcom announced that Street Fighter IV will appear on the PC as well, which caused a big uproar in the gaming community. Honestly I enjoyed this news, especially because there is a large category of players who still take time to play old, but immortal, fighting games on a GGPO system.

Also shortly before the launch, Yoshinori Ono has promised that the owners of the PC, because of the difference of time between releases (approximately four months), will have a surprise. I didn't forget what the producer said and therefore i had high expectations that we will entertain ourselves with new options or at least the an improvement of those already on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The most important modification was made to graphics. If consoles' maximum resolution was 1280x720, here it was raised at 1920x1080 and the quality difference is considerable, especially when we talk about an excellent level of details. If you thought the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 looks gorgeous, you should try using the PC version on a monitor or TV with full HD support. Moreover, it is carried out very smoothly, with 60 fps, constantly. On the other hand, for such performance you will need a decent processor ( Dual Core recommended), supported by a video card with 512MB RAM and 2GB of memory.

Another cool thing is the implementation of the three filters which can be applied to a particular visual impact: Watercolor (more diffuse colors), Ink (More vibrant colors and artistic designs) and Posterization (highly saturated colors). And although I enjoyed the extra options for graphics, I hope that this is not the only surprise for the PC version, I find myself having much higher expectations.

Do we fight on console or PC?

Time has shown us that Street Fighter IV is approaching maturity quickly, the many tournaments in which it was present and made a great figure is a proof of that. The balance between characters impressed me the most, especially the fact that many new fans have already learned to use the fighters at maximum potential.

Unlike other fighting games, Street Fighter control was never a simple one, and this title makes no exception. There are movements of rotation, which requires pressing punches for several seconds on a button, but the most difficult moments are at Zangief, requiring very complex circular rotations. One thing is certain, the game was created for arcade joysticks, or in the worst case, similar controllers for the consoles.

While it is not impossible to use the keyboard, i consider that only a small percentage of players who use it can hope to reach a higher level. So between the two players of the same level, one using a keyboard and one using a controller or an arcade joystick, it's easy to say who will be the winner. You can say that there are many who have trained on GGPO using the keyboard, but we do not take into account the hundreds of hours spent there and in the company of competitive opponents. In conclusion, if you do not have an arcade joystick or controller, you should get one, otherwise you'll swear on that keyboard for sure.

In addition, the training was not improved in any way, which can create problems to newcomers or those using the keyboard. Even a tiny experience with one of the titles will make a difference as there isn't anywhere a specific example of how to execute the "shortcuts" of certain more complex shots, such as the "Ultras" of Guile or Vega, which require special skill, even for owners of arcade joystick. Therefore, more information for beginners improvement would have been a major bonus.
